I have a police scanner in my car so what is the reason the law is against me doing that?
Michigan says one cannot have a police scanner in a car.
It's my car I can have what I want in it. Never been caught with a scanner in my car. If stopped I hide it.

Amends the Michigan Penal Code to remove the prohibition of possessing a police scanner in a vehicle. Possession of a police scanner is now prohibited regardless of location by certain felons and in the commission of a crime, but allowed under other circumstances.
If you aren't a convicted felon or committing a crime then you are ok to have a scanner in your car as of May 31, 2006.
