My jeep was stolen in DC, I have police report.I found the truck last week but the guy bought it from auction.?
I called cops. They told me the truck was never reported stolen and i should go back to DC police with my report for answers. I did and DC police told me they did send it to TELETYPE to broadcast it as a stolen vehicle and that is where their job ends. He wished me good luck and shook hands.
Who is teletype? What are my options he because the guy who has the truck runs a junk yard and the truck is being ripped for parts.
I need help.
You need to go back to the DC police and get a copy of the report. Take that report to the police department where the jeep is, and ask them to assist you in getting your truck back.
DC is noted for failure to follow up on stolen vehicle reports.
You do not say where the car is located, but if the local police will not help you, contact the Maryland or Virgina State police.
