How can I protect my brother's hands when my dog attacks him?
My dog bit my neighbor yesterday and I thought it would be great to train him in Shootzsand to channel those drives.
I put my brother in his winter clothes. He has a big fluffy ski jacket and big fluffy pants. We wrapped him in big burlap bags, liek the bags potatoes come in. We've seen the police dog demonstrations so we know all about it.
But what if my dog bites his hands? How can he protect his hands? Would leather gloves work?
One of my best friends trains police dogs, and i can tell you, unless you are a professional, and have a mentor to help you, you have NO business doing bite work with your dog.
Watching it on TV doesn't mean you know all about it. I watch House, but I don't pretend to be a doctor. Also, if you know all about it, you should be able to spell Schutzhund.
There are techniques to being the helper, and the handler. Your dog could get hurt, or hurt someone else. Schutzhund is NOT a channel for dogs with biting tendencies, your dog needs basic obedience training first.
When you train your dog to bite a person in heavy winter coats and sacks, he will start going after homeless people wearing layers of coats and rags, or passers by in winter coats.
Schutzhund dogs are trained from puppy hood to ONLY bite the sleeve.
Don't get me wrong, I love this sport, but DO NOT attempt this on your own. There are Schutzhund clubs all over the country, join one.

The day has come and you are prepping for the most important interview of your life. You are standing in your bedroom trying to figure out what the most appropriate attire would be for a company of this magnitude when you settle on business casual and head out the door. Most interviewees forgot one critical factor - first impressions are key. During that interview you are marketing a very important product, yourself. The first impression a potential employer will receive is your appearance, even before you utter your first hello. "Dress for success" if probably one idiom that is overused by everyone in the working world; however, it may be the most underused by those seeking employment.
If possible, do some research and try to figure out the company atmosphere. That will ease any tensions that you may have while trying to find the perfect interview ensemble. You could give the human resources department a call and ask what the proper attire is. If you are uncomfortable with that scenario, pay the office a visit to grab some company information and carefully observe what others are wearing.
There are a few good choices you can make that will radiate a positive opinion to the person conducting the interview if you are unable to pay the office a visit. Think independently but dress conservatively. If you would not be comfortable sitting down to dinner with your parent's in your outfit, it is probably not appropriate for a job interview either. Remember that presentation counts so your attire should not be sloppy, full of holes, tattered, or torn. Your clothing should reflect that you are serious about this position, that you took the time to think through your interview, that you are ready for success and willing to take on clients.
There are some standard professional pieces that should be included in any business attire. For men, a button-down shirt, polished black shoes, a jacket with matching slacks, a conservative tie, and blue or black socks are integral pieces. Ladies should own a skirt that hits just above the knee, slacks, simple jewelry, polished flats or modest heels, and sweaters or cardigans. Makeup is never required but if it is worn, just a hint will do. Never enter an office with what could pass for a Halloween mask. Perfume should be avoided during an interview and just a small splash should be used after a week or so on the job. Be extra careful with perfumes or colognes because there is a possibility that someone can be sensitive or allergic in your office.
Last, self-expression is an attribute that most hold dearly. In turn, most want to express themselves through their clothing. For most businesses this is not a problem as long as your self-expression did not leave an unprofessional image with the clients. For this reason, stay in uniform with your co-workers. If the office observes business casual dress through the week, it is not appropriate to wear jeans even if the jeans are tactful. If you happen to be entering an organization that has a uniform or dress code policy, following that policy is crucial. For some businesses, uniforms offer an integral way of identification while on the job. For instance, police officers are readily identifiable for those who need assistance because of a standard uniform.
Remember, dress for your position. Whether that requires a suit or construction uniform, remember to present yourself as someone who is ready and willing to complete the task at hand.
