We recognize that a glossary of terminology for the paranormal is rife with flawed definitions, many of which are based on individual and religious beliefs and indicate prejudicial issues by their very usage. By example, ghost, spirit, demons, angels, visions of specific religious figures (e.g. The Virgin Mary), are all "contaminated" with the beliefs and expectations of the user or observer. Many of the people that use these terms are certain that they are using a bank of terminology that has been universally established and substantiated by evidence. These assumptions are, erroneous. It is noteworthy that when most people have extra-sensory experiences, those experiences are often dressed in the belief symbols of the recipient. This provides clues that subjectivity plays a major role in interpretations of these types of events. Any procedure should hearken to this issue and attempt to clarify our use of any subjective terminology while simultaneously identifying those aspects of the investigation that may be contaminated with our own beliefs and expectations.

There are some aspects of our procedure that must be defined as assumptive. Assumptive procedure, here, is defined as procedures that, in themselves, have processes or assumptions that have not been proven using scientific methods. What are assumptive features of research and what do they mean relative to a proper protocol? Much will be anecdotal or unproven based on witness reports and based on our observations. This must be defined as a flaw relative to a scientific model and must be defined and explained completely.

We will be using an experienced psychic in our investigations. The assumptive aspect of this feature is, of course, that psychic abilities are, themselves, an area of paranormal research still very much under scrutiny. Simply put, the use of a psychic makes the assumption that the type of information that the technique makes available to us is real. The psychic we are using has 30 years experience in the use of a natural gift that has been anecdotally established on a consistent level, and documented through vast case study. It is, however, an assumptive feature that is in conflict with a pure scientific method. Experience has shown us that the information is accurate when verification is available on a level that makes it valuable to the work recalling that our mission is to gather information within a set of parameters. By the very nature of the subject, many findings in the field are not reproducible. Much of the "research" is, in fact, simply a documentation of the events and circumstance to the limits of the researcher's resources. We recognize that fact and readily identify it here as a flaw in the ability to attach any "pure science" label to it. We will attempt to identify any assumptive issues of which we are aware. We would offer the information accurately documented within those parameters on its own merit for others to use, verify or contradict as their own model demands. We, of course, expect anyone that uses the information to credit and cite the source according to copyright laws, a major aspect of any writing, including research.

The next limit has to do with other aspects of the model design and the limits of our current technology:

We will be using EMF technology and looking at various aspects of electromagnetism and the associated fields. We understand that this is another assumptive aspect of paranormal research. It has not been conclusively established that EMF has anything whatever to do with what is regularly termed as "a haunting". Indeed, the parameters of "haunting" have not been verified on the level by which we are defining the term here. Hallucinations during a specific timed exposure to very low frequencies, (below 30Hz) have been verified in a laboratory setting whereby it is concluded that 20 to 30 percent of the population may be susceptible to this effect.
