General police and CBI in India
All big bribe cases, all cases of scams, scandals, muddles, sale of jobs, sale of licenses, sale of quotas and all big corruption cases are not being probed into properly and that is the reason even our Courts are giving directions that the investigations should be carried out by the CBI. When a case is given to CBI, even a common India starts believing that justice shall be done with the case and all who are guilty shall be brought to book and none shall get exemption because of his position in life and in the government side. And when the cases are with the local police, the people believe that the police shall be won over and shall not be investigating properly.
The latest case is of police recruitment carried out during the regime of Mulayam Singh Yadav in the year 2005. It means the petitioners might have said in the petition that there had been sale of jobs or some favours had been done while making selections to the police. The Honourable Allahabad High Court felt like this and they allowed probe through CBI.
Time has come when the people of India must have a look on police force available with them. When the CBI can go deep, our own police can also go deep because intelligence is not lacking on this side. The people are from local area and there may be some relations and because of those relations we are not expecting proper investigation. We have noted that here in India and specially in states, the police remains silent when big bosses are committing all types of crimes and when they are ousted and new regime is established, then the same police force starts registering criminal cases against the ousted people and some are arrested even and sent to jails. We cannot say that all these cases were not within the knowledge of the police, but they kept silence because of fear of their own jobs. This not good. The police must keep its eyes open and as and when they notice something wrong, they should take immediate action and they should not wait because with the passing of time the criminals shall be destroying evidence against them. When we appoint CBI people they are successful in investigation because they are beyond local influence and they go deep into the case. Therefore, time has come when the government of India must try to have a through examination of this problems and they must see that when we note something wrong, we should entrust the work to selected people who are beyond reproach. If need be we should appoint in police people from other states and not from the local state and they shall be free from local politics and other influences. Some alternative is there and wise people must sit and have discussion on this point and they must suggest some alternative so that at all the times, we should not be looking for CBI report but our local police could be available for all the crimes and they must be catching the culprits without any further delay.
