Police Call Guide

What can I do now to get my son back?
The parents of my ex-girlfriend took my son out of South Dakota to North Platte, Neb. They left this mourning and when I tried to call, they shut there cell phones off, and the mother did call and refused me the right to see him this weekend. I did call the police, but they said it was a civil matter, and as long as we both have joint custody then she has the right to move him out of state without my permission. I did ask her for her address and offered her a fax number to send my a copy of were she has the legal right to do this, without me giving consent. She hung up and won't answer any more calls from me. I did read through the South Dakota Child Custody Guide lines and even pointed it out to the offercer were it states in Section 1.16 paragraph E. Kidnapping Threats. Noncustodial parents who have threatened to kidnap or hide the child(ren) should have no vistition or only supervised visits.......So now what should I do?
I've been on three sides of this fence. I was a child of feuding parents, a custodial parent and a step-mother and I helped my husband get legal visitation and we had his ex-girlfriend prosecuted and arrested and found in contempt (yes, arrested, warrent issued, guilty of contempt after trial). I'm also studying now to become a lawyer. That being said, I believe I have some knowledge about this subject although this is in no way legal advice. I am somewhat confused as to who took the child. Who took the child? The child's grand parents or the mother of the child. Whomever it is, you state that the officers stated that you and the other who has the child has share physical custody of this child. That being said, those rights, right to move without your consent, is already implied UNLESS the court ORDERED IT NOT TO BE. In other words unless the court states NOT to remove the child from the [state, county, etc.] without the other interested party's WRITTEN permission, they had the right. The thing about rights is that it's a double edged sword. Just like they took your son out of South Dakota to North Platte, Nebraska, you can go to Nebraska and bring him back to South Dakota. When did you find out they were planning on moving? When you find out that they were going to move, the best thing to do to handle it would have been to file what's called an injunction to prevent the move until the court ruled on what's best for the child. Meaning you would have asked the court to require them to put the move on a temporary hold (or even stopping it altogether) until the court desides whether the child is allowed to move or not. The court can decide in several ways: the visitation/custody order is modified, the child could be prevented from leaving the state, etc. So I recommend you contact an attorney, maybe your legal aid office. Most places have a neighborhood legal services or a Legal Aid office for assistance. Most courts will NOT support the interruption of the relationship of a child and his/her parents unless that relationship is toxic. Honestly, I don't see why a mother would either, but that's me. I'd love to see what I can do to help you in this situation if I could. I can only do mainly supportive and referrals as I'm not yet an attorney but I'll do what I can. Eitherway, best wishes.
One way to become a police
Being a police man is a great job because you can help your country maintain its peace and order. But before you become a police officer you must first go through hard trainings and take a difficult police exam. You must also take up a course in Criminology and go through an exclusive police school for the formal training. Before taking the police exam you must pack yourself with hard facts in order to make sure that you are ready to ace the test.
How can you properly prepare yourself for the police exam? Now here is some advice for you, you must practice your ability to remember things. If you think that you are weak in your memorization skills you’ve got to change that to help you in the studying process. Always believe in your skills, and work on your strengths as an examinee.
You must also be a confident problem solver, because cops usually spend their day and night solving problems. There are many police exam guides sold in the bookstore and in the internet; you can get information there if you want. You must also work with your reading comprehension, read anything like fiction, non-fiction, magazines, newspapers, read anything that requires concentration and that is well written.
You must also be capable to write anything about what you have read. Police officers want to know that you can not only read but you can also remember and use what you have just read. You must refresh your basic math and intellectual skills, a police exam may also include mathematical equations, whether it’s figuring out staffing levels for a certain size community or maybe measuring an accident scene.
Police officers want to know if you can apply simple basic math skills during a crime scene. Studying math can help structure our reasoning skills, so if x = 23 + (6 x 12) / 5, what is the value of x? You must also be a good test taker; you must know how to control your breathing and employ relaxation techniques. Don’t let difficult questions ruin your mind, if you don’t know what is the answer to that question, move on to the next one and just return to your unanswered problems later on. Police departments are observing if you are keen, critical, and logical, that’s why they test you.
After you have passed the exams they have given you, they will invite you to a written exam. You must be ready before you take the police examination. On the day of exams many examinees are not fully prepared that’s why they are often fidgety and nervous. These types of people start wondering what the exam will be like, and do not have the full confidence that they will pass. But if you already prepared for the exam, you can overcome that situation. So if you like to be a police officer someday you must have the courage and strength to surpass the entire requirement needed to be an effective and loyal police officer.
