Halloween costume - Police and Jews?
I saw 5 young men on Halloween, 4 were state troopers and the fifth was dressed as a hasid. Someone said that this was a common costume theme this year. Why?
well i think lots of younger kids dress up like police officers but never heard of anyone dressing up as a hasid perhaps something off simpsons/ family guy etc
Scavenger Hunts are great hits at children's parties. Below is a list of ideas to help you get started.
Pirate Treasure Hunt: Treasure hunts always come with maps that have directions and clues to help with the recovering of the 'treasure'. You can have different children dressed up as different characters to play-act their roles. Then the person who finds the treasure will be the winner of the grand prize.
Mystery Hunt: This one also involves different children acting out different roles. The children go around talking to each other trying to learn more about a particular situation. Object Scavenger Hunt: The participants are not told what they are looking for but will be told where to find it. The objects could be in the home, in your garden or backyard or even in a park.
Mystery Game based on "Clue": This game is similar to the general mystery game except that it would include specific plots, objects and clues from the popular mystery board game "Clue".
Cops and Robbers: This is a classic game played by boys. Most boys want to be policeman when they grow up, so this game kind of like 'fulfils' their dreams. Of course some must play the good guys and some the crooks. They can always change roles with their friends to give others a chance at playing the good guy.. Some can play detectives. Some clues are given to help them find the missing fugitive.
Fantasy Mystery Game: The participants are involved in an imaginary mission or quest in an unknown or fantasy world. The object is to complete the mission and find treasures along the way.
Another variation of scavenger hunt may be to have a cartoon character themed hunt. For example, you could hire someone to dress up like "Blues Clues" or other character. They guide young children in finding the clues and everyone ends up a winner.
You may want to visit discount stores or dollar stores to look for ideas for scavenger hunt arty prizes. The prizes could be items that the children find during the course of their scavenger hunt. However for the "treasure" or grand prize you may want to consider a more expensive gift like a CD or a gift voucher from a music store or a gift voucher from some departmental store. Remember with some imagination, you could make your scavenger hunt party to be a big hit with the children.
