Does anyone know if the Uniden BCT8 would pick up police frequencies in S. California or would i need digital?

I'm thinking about buying a Uniden BCT8 (BearTracker Warning System with 800 MHz TrunkTracker III), and I was wondering if it would be able to pick up Highway Patrol in the L.A. or Laguna Beach area, or would I need to buy a Digital scanner?

Portions of the Los Angles Basin have gone digital, so your BCT8 will not be able to handle those.

LAPD has went to P25 digital conventional on their UHF channels so the BCT8 will not work for them.

All of Orange county police is encrypted digital and UNMONITORIABLE by any scanner.

CHP is still analog on low band 44MHz which your BCT8 will handle.
