Alleged cop impersonator called cops for backup
METAIRIE, La. (AP) -- The Jefferson Parish sheriff says a Kentucky man allegedly posing as a policeman was arrested after a call for state police backup. Newell Normand says 56-year-old Herman Justice, of Louisville, was booked Friday with aggravated assault and impersonating an officer. He remained jailed Friday without bond. Normand says Justice allegedly pulled a woman over about 3 a.m ...
Do you think Cops and Sheriffs should be voted in by the people or kept how it is now?
A 20 year old police officer/sheriff/kid from Crandon Wi. can't handle his girlfriend breaking up with him for another guy, so he shoots up everyone in the same room as her because they all are calling him a "worthless pig" We are supposed to listen to cops because they have a badge, but we know nothing about them. We vote in our Presidents, Mayors, etc. Why not Cops?
Pzych, you could leave any part of your ballot blank. If people choose not to vote for anything but President on their ballot, does their vote not count?
Why vote for cops and not the military? Why not CIA agents? Why not postal workers? Why not the director of government agency #4492?
The voting ballots would be a mile long...
I would rather have regulations determining who works in those types of jobs, not voters. Also, I hate uninformed voting. If you have 200 people to vote for every election cycle, there's no way you're going to be informed on everyone there...but lots of people who don't believe as I do would still vote for everyone on the list...at random, or along party lines, or whatever. It's unnecessary, and inefficient to make those positions based upon public vote.
