MY friends car repossessed PAID & being sued need lawyer HELP ?
Repossessed Auto Sent to Auction
I need help my friends car repossessed because he could just not afford to pay the payment.
he received a letter from county sherrif or police or somthing stating that they sold the car for $10000 dollars. And we owe the balance which is almost $5000 dollars.
car sold and 30 day notice was issued on 13 th he never got those paper till sherriff/police delivered home on like 5th december so he was really given like 8 days insted of 30 .
now he been served with papers to appear in court,
he can afford lowyer but just dont know who to talk to so i am posting on yahoo so may be someone can help !
he lives in Demorest GA 30535.
any advise can help
also lawyer number what to do etc.

ADD THIS car payment was 371.45 month
he paid 2 payments of $390.00 just 3 days before the took car
and payment was taken from bank account before they took the car and when he called them they said sorry yes payment was posted but they dident see it
That is what happens when a car is repossessed. It was auctioned off to the highest bidder. Since that amount was not enough to cover the loan on the vehicle, it is up to your friend to pay the difference.
Perhaps an attorney could get the amount cut down a bit, but I doubt it. He does need to be represented.
