in the state of florida do probation/parol officers drive unmarked cars with lights and any gadgets?
or do they use personal vehicles.. if they use personal vehicles do they have rights to use siren and lights? also do they carry 2 way radios and have police radio in their cars? and what powers does a state probation/parol officer possess?
Having lights and sirens on an "unmarked" car would kind of defeat the purpose of having an unmarked car ... wouldn't it?
They generally use "pool vehicles", nothing special ... plain as h*** 4 door 6 or 8 cylinder American made cars. Nothing special about them.
Why would a probation or parole officer need a siren? It ain't like they are going to respond to emergency situations!
They *might* have two way radios in the car, depending on where they work. Outside of the power to violate parole or probation offenders, not much in the way of "special powers".
